Mardi Gras 마르디 그라

Mardi Gras is the carnival celebration that takes place in New Orleans. The first American Mardi Gras took place on March 3, 1699, when French explorers Pierre Le Moyne d'Iberville and Sieur de Bienville landed near present-day New Orleans, Louisiana. They held a small celebration and dubbed their landing spot Point du Mardi Gras.

마르디 그라는 뉴 올리언즈에서 하는 지역 축제입니다. 미국의 첫번째 마르디 그라는 1699년 3월 3일에 열렸는데, 프랑스인 개척자들인 Pierre Le Moyne d’lberville 과 Sieur de Bienville 이 지금의 뉴올리언즈 지역에 당도했을때 작은 축제를 열고 그곳을 Point du Mardi Gras라 이름지었습니다.
