Seoul Nightlife Guide 2026: Which Area Should You Go To?

18 min read

If it's your first night out in Seoul and you don't know where to go, start with Itaewon. If you're in your early 20s and want young, high-energy nightlife and lots of clubs, choose Hongdae. For a more upscale night out, look toward Gangnam or Apgujeong. And if you'd rather experience Korean drinking culture, hidden bars and old-school streets than spend the night in a club, go to Euljiro.

That's the short answer.

The longer answer is that there isn't really one “Seoul nightlife.”

A Friday night in Hongdae can mean university-age crowds, street performers, inexpensive bars and packed clubs. Across the city, Apgujeong can mean cocktails, fashionable crowds and expensive tables. Itaewon mixes Koreans, expats and travelers across Hip-Hop lounges, cocktail bars, live music and underground electronic clubs. Euljiro can have you drinking beer outside an old building before disappearing upstairs into a bar you would never have noticed from the street.

So instead of asking:

“What's the best nightlife area in Seoul?”

Ask:

“What's the best nightlife area in Seoul for me?”

That's what this guide will help you figure out.

Planet Hustle operates nightlife venues in Itaewon, so we experience Seoul nightlife from the other side of the bar as well. But this isn't an argument that everyone should go to Itaewon. Depending on what you're looking for, Hongdae, Gangnam, Apgujeong or Euljiro may genuinely be the better choice.

Let's figure out which one fits your night.

These aren't rules. You can be 40 and have a great night in Hongdae or 22 and love Euljiro.

Think of the table as probability, not permission.

If you want the widest variety and easiest international environment, Itaewon is the strongest all-rounder.

If you want young, energetic nightlife with lots of clubs, Hongdae is difficult to beat.

If you want a polished, higher-budget night, Gangnam becomes more attractive.

If cocktails, fashion and sophisticated venues matter more than cheap drinks, look toward Apgujeong and Cheongdam.

And if your idea of nightlife is drinking, eating and exploring rather than clubbing, Euljiro deserves serious consideration.

Itaewon Nightlife: Seoul's International All-Rounder

Itaewon Nightlife

Best for: International crowds, solo travelers, meeting people, Hip-Hop, R&B, Afrobeats, electronic music, lounges and variety.

Consider somewhere else if: Your priority is inexpensive student nightlife or you specifically want a predominantly Korean environment.

If someone arrived in Seoul tonight, knew nothing about the city and asked us where to go, Itaewon would usually be our starting recommendation.

Not because Itaewon is automatically better than everywhere else.

It's because Itaewon gives you more ways to change your mind.

You can start with cocktails, find a small social bar, listen to live music, smoke hookah, hear Hip-Hop and R&B, dance to electronic music or spend the night talking to people from countries you weren't expecting to encounter in Seoul.

That variety is Itaewon's biggest strength.

What Itaewon nightlife actually feels like

There isn't one Itaewon crowd.

You'll see Koreans on dates, foreign residents who've lived in Seoul for years, tourists who arrived three days ago, international students, groups celebrating birthdays and people who walked into a bar alone.

English is also easier to use here than in many Seoul nightlife districts.

That doesn't mean Itaewon is simply a “foreigner neighborhood” where Koreans don't go. The attraction is the mixture.

If one person in your group wants cocktails, another wants Hip-Hop and someone else wants to go dancing later, Itaewon gives you a realistic chance of keeping everyone happy without crossing Seoul.

Music and nightlife in Itaewon

Itaewon has one of Seoul's broadest musical ranges.

Electronic-music fans have long associated the area with underground venues and event-driven club culture. Hip-Hop and R&B are also heavily represented throughout the neighborhood.

If you're specifically looking for Hip-Hop, R&B and Afrobeats, Lit Lounge offers those genres in a hookah-lounge environment with a mixed Korean, expat and traveler crowd.

That's an important distinction: Lit is a lounge, not a traditional nightclub. You can dance, but conversation and social interaction are still part of the experience.

Itaewon also has long-running live-music institutions, including jazz venues, alongside cocktail bars and late-night drinking spots.

The result is a neighborhood where “going out” doesn't automatically mean “going clubbing.”

Is Itaewon good for solo travelers?

Very.

In our experience, it's probably the easiest major nightlife district in Seoul for someone going out alone.

But here's the part people miss:

The size of the crowd matters less than the format of the venue.

Walking alone into a club with hundreds of people doesn't guarantee you'll meet anyone.

A small bar where people sit near each other may be far more social.

Billion Bar, for example, is intentionally designed around travelers and social interaction. Its smaller size makes conversation easier than in a giant club.

The same principle applies throughout Itaewon: if you're alone and want to meet people, prioritize social bars, lounges, communal spaces and events rather than simply choosing whichever club looks busiest.

Who should choose Itaewon?

Choose Itaewon if you're visiting Seoul for the first time, traveling alone, want an international crowd, enjoy Hip-Hop/R&B/Afrobeats, want electronic music or simply want several different kinds of nightlife available within one area.

Hongdae Nightlife: Young, Loud and Built for a Night Out

Hongdae Nightlife

Best for: Younger travelers, clubs, spontaneous bar-hopping, relatively affordable nightlife, street energy and live/indie music.

Consider somewhere else if: You want a mature crowd, premium cocktails or an upscale lounge experience.

Hongdae has perhaps the clearest identity of Seoul's major nightlife districts.

It's young.

The neighborhood developed around Hongik University and its surrounding arts and music culture. That connection to youth still defines Hongdae after dark.

Walk through the area on a busy night and the nightlife doesn't stay behind closed doors. Crowds move through the streets between restaurants, bars, karaoke rooms and clubs. Street performances and busking contribute to the atmosphere.

Hongdae feels less like you're visiting individual nightlife businesses and more like the entire neighborhood is out.

What Hongdae nightlife actually feels like

Spontaneous.

You don't need a complicated plan.

Eat somewhere. Walk around. Find a bar. Hear music somewhere else. Change your mind. Go to karaoke. Find another club.

Hongdae's density makes that style of night particularly easy.

It also generally offers more budget-friendly nightlife than Seoul's premium districts.

If you're 22, visiting Korea with three friends and want to drink, dance and see where the night takes you, I'd probably send you to Hongdae before Gangnam.

That's exactly what Hongdae does well.

If you're 38 and looking for exceptional cocktails in a room where you can comfortably have a conversation, I'd probably send you somewhere else.

Neither choice is better.

They're different nights.

Music and clubs in Hongdae

Hongdae has a long relationship with Hip-Hop and club culture, but its music scene is broader than that.

The Hongdae/Sangsu area remains particularly important to Seoul's indie and live-music ecosystem, while mainstream club nights can cover Hip-Hop, pop and electronic music.

This is one reason people searching for clubs in Seoul so often end up in Hongdae.

There are simply a lot of opportunities to dance.

Is Hongdae good for solo travelers?

Yes—but it's not automatically social just because it's crowded.

Hongdae contains plenty of travelers and the streets themselves are easy to explore alone. But Korean nightlife is often group-oriented, with friends arriving and drinking together.

If you're solo and your primary objective is meeting people, look for social events, pub crawls, live music, bar seating and other environments where interaction happens naturally.

If your priority is simply being surrounded by energy, Hongdae works very well alone.

Who should choose Hongdae?

Choose Hongdae if you're in your early-to-mid 20s, budget matters, you want clubs, you enjoy spontaneous nights or you want the combination of nightlife, youth culture and live music that made the neighborhood famous.

Gangnam Nightlife: The More Polished Side of Seoul

Gangnam Nightlife

Best for: Groups, premium nightlife, dressing up and people prepared to spend more.

Consider somewhere else if: You're watching your budget, traveling alone specifically to meet people or prefer casual nightlife.

First, an important clarification:

Gangnam is enormous.

Tourists sometimes use “Gangnam nightlife” as shorthand for basically everything fashionable south of the Han River, but Gangnam Station, Apgujeong Rodeo and Cheongdam are not interchangeable nightlife experiences.

We'll separate Apgujeong and Cheongdam below.

For this guide, the useful thing to understand about Gangnam is the overall direction:

Expect nightlife to become more polished, more appearance-conscious and potentially more expensive.

Groups may reserve tables. Certain clubs emphasize bottle service. People are more likely to dress specifically for the night.

Door policies can also vary considerably by venue.

That can produce an excellent night if that's exactly what you're looking for.

It can be frustrating if you aren't.

Who should choose Gangnam?

Choose Gangnam if you want to dress up, you're going out with friends, you're comfortable spending money and you specifically want to experience the more polished side of Korean nightlife.

Don't choose Gangnam simply because you've heard that's where “the best clubs in Seoul” are.

There isn't one best club district.

A person looking for underground techno, for example, may be much happier in Itaewon. Someone looking for youthful club-hopping may prefer Hongdae.

Expensive and best are not synonyms.

Apgujeong & Cheongdam Nightlife: Fashion, Cocktails and Premium Nights

Apgujeong Nightlife

Best for: Cocktails, stylish venues, dates, lounges, fashion-conscious crowds and higher-budget nightlife.

Consider somewhere else if: You want cheap drinks, backpacker energy or extremely casual nightlife.

Apgujeong Rodeo and Cheongdam deserve to be separated from the generic idea of “Gangnam nightlife.”

This is one of the areas we'd recommend when someone's definition of a good night changes from:

“Where can we get drunk and dance?”

to:

“Where can we have excellent drinks somewhere that actually feels special?”

Seoul's cocktail scene has become internationally significant. In the 2026 Asia's 50 Best Bars ranking, Seoul's Zest ranked No. 2 in Asia and was named Best Bar in Korea, while several other Seoul bars also appeared in the rankings.

Zest is located around Dosan-daero, putting one of Asia's highest-rated cocktail bars directly into this broader Apgujeong/Cheongdam nightlife ecosystem.

That tells you something important about Seoul nightlife in 2026:

Seoul isn't interesting only because of its clubs anymore.

Cocktail culture is becoming a reason to go out on its own.

What does Apgujeong nightlife feel like?

More deliberate.

People are more likely to have a destination in mind rather than wandering randomly between ten cheap bars.

Appearance also matters more here than in casual nightlife districts.

That doesn't mean you need designer clothes.

It does mean that if you're specifically planning on premium lounges or clubs, this probably isn't the night to wear whatever you spent all afternoon sightseeing in.

Who should choose Apgujeong or Cheongdam?

Choose this area if you're in your late 20s, 30s or older, appreciate cocktails and design, are planning a date, enjoy fashionable nightlife or would rather visit two excellent places than eight inexpensive ones.

Euljiro Nightlife: Drinking in the Back Alleys of Seoul

Euljiro Nightlife

Best for: Korean drinking culture, beer, soju, hidden bars, casual bar-hopping and people who prefer exploring to clubbing.

Consider somewhere else if: Your main objective is dancing in a large nightclub.

Euljiro feels completely different from Hongdae, Itaewon or Gangnam.

During the day, parts of the neighborhood still contain printing shops, metal workshops, lighting businesses and other long-running trades.

At night, restaurants, beer spots and creative bars exist among those same aging buildings.

That's the appeal.

You don't necessarily go to Euljiro to party.

You go there to drink in Seoul.

What Euljiro nightlife actually feels like

Start with beer and Korean drinking food.

Walk down an alley.

Go upstairs into a building that doesn't look like it contains anything interesting.

Find a bar.

That's much closer to the Euljiro experience than standing in line outside a giant nightclub.

The area's famous Nogari Alley became known for drinking beer with inexpensive dried pollack, while newer bars helped create the neighborhood's “Hipjiro” reputation.

The contrast between old Seoul industry and newer creative nightlife gives Euljiro a character that's difficult to reproduce somewhere else.

Is Euljiro good for solo travelers?

It depends on your objective.

If you're comfortable exploring alone, Euljiro can be fascinating.

If your goal is specifically meeting strangers, it's less reliable.

Many Korean drinking establishments are naturally designed around groups sharing alcohol and food at a table.

That's an important difference between being solo-friendly and being socially easy.

Euljiro can be very enjoyable alone without necessarily being the easiest place to make five new friends.

Who should choose Euljiro?

Choose Euljiro if you want something that feels distinctly Korean, prefer drinking to dancing, like unusual spaces, enjoy beer, soju and cocktails or simply don't need your night to revolve around a club.

Bars vs Lounges vs Clubs in Seoul: What's the Difference?

One reason visitors choose the wrong neighborhood is that they search for “Seoul nightlife” when they actually have a very specific type of venue in mind.

These experiences aren't interchangeable.

Bars

Usually the easiest option if drinking and conversation are the priority.

That category itself ranges from tiny neighborhood bars to sports bars, whisky bars and internationally recognized cocktail bars.

Social Bars

A useful subcategory for travelers.

These are places where interaction is part of the experience rather than everyone staying exclusively within their own group.

If you're traveling alone, this format can matter more than whether the bar is located in Seoul's “best” nightlife district.

Lounges

Lounges sit somewhere between a bar and a club.

Music is more important, and there may be dancing, DJs or hookah, but conversation and seating still matter.

Lit Lounge in Itaewon is a good example: Hip-Hop, R&B and Afrobeats are central to the experience, but it isn't trying to function like a giant nightclub.

Clubs

Music and dancing become the main event.

Expect louder music, dancing and potentially covers, door policies or table service depending on the venue.

If you're specifically searching for the best clubs in Seoul, choose the music and crowd you want before choosing the neighborhood.

Pocha

A pocha is much closer to Korean food-and-drinking culture.

Think shared food, soju, beer and groups drinking together rather than dancing.

If that sounds more interesting than a club, areas like Euljiro immediately become more attractive.

Where Should You Go Based on Music?

Sometimes the neighborhood decision is really a music decision.

Hip-Hop and R&B

Start with Itaewon or Hongdae.

Hongdae has a long history of Hip-Hop club culture and attracts a younger crowd.

Itaewon generally gives you a more international environment and allows Hip-Hop and R&B to overlap with lounges, bars and other genres.

Lit Lounge is one Itaewon option if you're specifically looking for Hip-Hop, R&B and Afrobeats in a social lounge rather than a traditional club.

Afrobeats and Amapiano

Start with Itaewon.

These genres fit naturally into Itaewon's international nightlife ecosystem.

Lit Lounge regularly includes Afrobeats in its music programming, and event-driven Afro/Amapiano nights also appear elsewhere in the Itaewon scene.

If Afrobeats is one of your priorities, we'd choose Itaewon over Hongdae or Gangnam.

House and Techno

Itaewon is a strong starting point.

The neighborhood has a long-standing connection to Seoul's underground electronic scene.

But with underground music, remember this:

The event can matter more than the venue.

Check who is actually playing that night.

Indie and Live Music

Hongdae and nearby Sangsu.

This is one category where Hongdae's history matters.

The area grew alongside Seoul's independent arts and music culture, and live performance remains part of its identity.

Jazz

Itaewon deserves consideration.

The neighborhood has long-running jazz history and live-music venues alongside its bars and clubs.

K-Pop

Here's where visitors sometimes get confused:

Don't assume every Korean nightclub is a K-Pop club.

Some commercial venues may mix Korean hits with Hip-Hop, pop or dance music. Underground clubs may play almost none.

If hearing specific music is important, check the venue's current event schedule before going.

Where Should You Go Based on Your Age and Vibe?

Age limits and actual crowd fit are different things.

We're talking about the second one.

Early 20s

Start with Hongdae.

It's energetic, relatively affordable and naturally connected to university culture.

Mid-to-Late 20s

You have the widest range of options.

Choose Hongdae for young, high-energy partying.

Choose Itaewon for international and social nightlife.

Choose Gangnam or Apgujeong when you want something more polished.

30s

We'd lean toward Itaewon, Apgujeong/Cheongdam or Euljiro.

There are simply more environments where being 32 instead of 22 feels irrelevant.

40s+

Don't make the mistake of assuming Seoul nightlife isn't for you.

Just stop using “nightlife” as another word for “nightclub.”

Cocktail bars, whisky bars, jazz, wine, Korean traditional liquor, lounges and smaller social bars create an enormous nightlife ecosystem outside youth-oriented clubs.

Once you look at Seoul that way, age becomes much less important.

Best Seoul Nightlife for Solo Travelers

If you're traveling alone, we'd put Itaewon first.

The international crowd, widespread use of English and variety of smaller social venues make it easier to walk into somewhere without a group.

Hongdae comes next.

It's extremely lively and easy to explore alone, but much of the nightlife still revolves around groups of friends going out together.

Euljiro can be excellent for solo exploration but isn't necessarily ideal if your goal is meeting strangers.

Gangnam and Apgujeong are certainly possible alone, but many premium nightlife experiences work better when you're arriving with friends, a reservation or a specific destination.

Here's the bigger lesson:

Don't choose solo nightlife based on crowd size.

A club with 500 people may be much harder for meeting someone than a bar with 25.

If you're alone and actually want conversation, prioritize:

  • Smaller bars and lounges

  • Bar seating

  • Social events

  • Comedy or live entertainment

  • Pub crawls

  • Trivia, game nights and other interactive events

  • Places explicitly designed around social interaction

That's also where Billion Bar fits into Itaewon nightlife. It's a small traveler-focused bar, so meeting another person isn't dependent on fighting your way across a giant dance floor.

If you're solo, venue format matters almost as much as neighborhood.

Where Should You Go If You Don't Speak Korean?

You can experience nightlife throughout Seoul without speaking Korean.

But some neighborhoods make it easier.

Itaewon: Easiest

This is one of Itaewon's biggest advantages for international visitors.

English is common in many venues, staff are accustomed to international customers and mixed Korean/foreign groups are normal.

Hongdae: Generally Easy

Hongdae receives plenty of international visitors and students, so foreign travelers are nothing unusual.

Individual venues still vary.

Gangnam / Apgujeong: Depends on the Venue

You can certainly go out here without Korean, but the experience can be more venue-dependent than Itaewon.

If you're planning a particular premium club or lounge, research that venue rather than assuming the entire neighborhood operates the same way.

Euljiro: More Adventurous

You don't need Korean to enjoy Euljiro, but some smaller local establishments may naturally be less English-oriented.

For some travelers, that's part of the fun.

For others, it's a reason to choose Itaewon instead.

Best Seoul Nightlife for Couples

There's no universal best date-night neighborhood.

It depends on the couple.

For cocktails and a polished date, choose Apgujeong/Cheongdam.

For exploring bars and drinking Korean-style, try Euljiro.

For dancing and having several different options in one night, choose Itaewon.

And if both of you want a young, loud night involving clubs, karaoke and whatever happens afterward, Hongdae is probably your answer.

How Much Does Seoul Nightlife Cost?

There isn't one useful number.

You can drink inexpensive beer and soju in Seoul or spend hundreds of thousands—or considerably more—on a premium night out.

The neighborhood gives you a better clue.

Hongdae: Generally one of the easier major nightlife districts for budget-conscious visitors.

Itaewon: Wide range. You can find casual drinking, lounges, clubs and serious cocktail bars within the same neighborhood.

Euljiro: Traditional beer/soju drinking can be inexpensive, while newer cocktail bars can push the price considerably higher.

Gangnam / Apgujeong: Expect to spend more, particularly if premium clubs, tables or cocktails are part of the plan.

At the high end, Seoul's cocktail culture is internationally competitive. Zest, ranked No. 2 in Asia's 50 Best Bars 2026, lists an average cocktail price around US$17.

So don't ask:

“Is Seoul nightlife cheap?”

Ask:

“Which version of Seoul nightlife do I want to pay for?”

What Are the Best Nights to Go Out in Seoul?

There are exceptions everywhere, but this is a useful way to think about the week.

Sunday–Wednesday

Usually more relaxed.

That doesn't mean nothing is happening.

These nights can be particularly good for specific events such as comedy, improv, networking, live performances, trivia, game nights and other scheduled activities.

The difference is that you should choose the event, not simply show up in a nightlife district and assume everything will be busy.

Thursday

Seoul starts moving toward the weekend.

Thursday is generally more energetic than the beginning of the week, but how busy it feels depends heavily on the neighborhood and venue.

Friday

Strong nightlife across essentially every major district.

If you're looking for bars, clubs and busy nightlife, Friday is a reliable choice.

Saturday

The biggest overall nightlife night.

More people are out, more events are happening and you'll generally have the widest range of options.

If you're visiting Seoul and only have one night to experience the city's nightlife, Saturday is usually the safest choice.

Getting Home After a Night Out in Seoul

This is worth thinking about before you start drinking.

Seoul's subway does not operate 24 hours.

Exact last trains vary by line, station, destination and day, so check your route rather than assuming you'll be able to take the same subway home that brought you out earlier.

If you've missed the subway, taxis operate overnight.

Seoul also operates late-night Night Owl bus routes that connect major parts of the city during hours when the subway isn't running.

That creates a classic Seoul nightlife decision:

Go home before your last train—or commit to staying out later and make another transportation plan.

If your hotel is far from the nightlife district, figure that out before the second round of drinks.

What Foreign Visitors Should Know Before Going Out in Seoul

Bring ID

Nightlife venues can request identification.

Don't travel across Seoul for a specific club only to discover you can't prove your age at the door.

Door Policies Vary

There is no single “Seoul club door policy.”

Venue, event, age, dress, capacity, intoxication and other factors can affect admission.

Premium clubs may also operate differently from casual bars and lounges.

If getting into one particular club is essential to your night, research that club, not simply the neighborhood.

Check the Event, Not Just the Venue

This matters especially for electronic and underground music.

A venue can have completely different crowds and music on consecutive nights.

Look at the lineup.

Don't Trust an Old Seoul Nightlife Article

This is important.

Seoul nightlife businesses open, close, move and rebrand constantly.

Some English-language guides continue recommending venues long after they're gone.

Before crossing the city for somewhere you've never visited, check whether the venue has recent activity on its official social media or website.

That's also why this guide focuses primarily on choosing a neighborhood, rather than pretending a static list of clubs will remain accurate forever.

Seoul Nightlife FAQ

What is the best area for nightlife in Seoul?

There isn't one best area for everyone.

Itaewon is our best all-around recommendation for first-time visitors because of its variety and international crowd.

Hongdae is stronger for younger travelers who prioritize energetic, relatively affordable clubbing.

Gangnam and Apgujeong make more sense for premium nightlife.

Euljiro is better if you're more interested in Korean drinking culture and bars than clubs.

Is Itaewon or Hongdae better for nightlife?

Choose Itaewon if you want an international crowd, social nightlife, broader age range and more variety.

Choose Hongdae if you want a younger crowd, lots of clubs, street energy and a more budget-friendly night.

Neither is universally better.

What is the best Seoul nightlife area for foreigners?

For most first-time international visitors, Itaewon is the easiest.

English is common, the crowd is highly international and there are many different types of nightlife within a relatively concentrated area.

Hongdae is another accessible option, particularly for younger visitors.

What is the best nightlife area in Seoul for solo travelers?

We recommend Itaewon.

But the venue matters almost as much as the neighborhood. Smaller social bars, lounges and interactive events are usually better for meeting people than simply walking into the largest club you can find.

Can you go clubbing alone in Seoul?

Yes.

But don't assume a crowded nightclub is automatically the easiest place to meet people. Korean nightlife can be group-oriented, so solo travelers who want conversation may have better results beginning at a social bar, event or smaller venue before going clubbing.

Is Seoul nightlife expensive?

It can be either.

Hongdae and traditional Korean drinking can be relatively affordable. Premium cocktail bars, clubs and tables in areas such as Gangnam and Apgujeong can become expensive quickly.

Your choice of venue matters more than Seoul itself.

What should I wear for Seoul nightlife?

For casual bars and much of Hongdae or Itaewon, normal going-out clothes are usually sufficient.

For premium clubs and lounges, particularly around Gangnam, Apgujeong and Cheongdam, dress more intentionally.

Individual venues can have their own policies, so check before going if one particular club is important to you.

Does Seoul nightlife go all night?

It can.

Many late-night venues continue well past the subway's final trains, particularly on weekends.

But Seoul nightlife includes everything from early cocktail bars to late clubs, so don't assume every venue follows the same schedule.

So, Where Should You Go Tonight?

If you're still deciding, here's the simplest version of this entire Seoul Nightlife Guide:

Choose Itaewon if you want variety, an international crowd, social nightlife or you're traveling alone.

Choose Hongdae if you're young, want lots of energy, want to go clubbing and prefer a more budget-friendly night.

Choose Gangnam if you're going out with a group and want a polished, higher-budget nightlife experience.

Choose Apgujeong/Cheongdam if cocktails, fashion, lounges and sophisticated nightlife are more important than cheap drinks.

Choose Euljiro if you'd rather drink, eat and explore Korean nightlife culture than spend your night inside a club.

And stop worrying about finding the universally “best club in Seoul.”

There isn't one.

The better strategy is:

Choose the right neighborhood. Then choose the right venue.

That's how you build a better night in Seoul.

About This Seoul Nightlife Guide

Planet Hustle operates Lit Lounge and Billion Bar in Itaewon.

That means we don't just visit Seoul nightlife. We work in it every week.

We see travelers arriving alone, groups trying to figure out where to go next, people discovering Seoul for the first time and regulars who have been going out here for years.

That experience influences this guide—but it doesn't mean our venues are right for everyone.

If you're 22 and want young, high-energy clubbing, we may tell you to go to Hongdae.

If you're looking for a serious cocktail experience, we may send you toward Apgujeong.

If you want Korean drinking culture rather than an international nightlife scene, Euljiro might suit you better than Itaewon.

The purpose of this guide is to help you choose the right night—not to convince everyone to choose ours.

Seoul nightlife changes quickly, so we periodically review this guide and update information that no longer reflects what's actually happening in the city.
